The 2nd Annual American Cancer Society Charity Pickleball tournament took place yesterday at the Quad City Tennis & Pickleball Club in Moline, IL and is complete & in the books. Last year in the Inaugural Tournament we attracted 60 players that competed in 4 divisions for a total of 110 entries. This year in our second year, we attracted 102 players from 4 states in 7 different divisions for a total of 160 entries! I am so thankful for this 60% increase in not only numbers, but in the quality of players! A big thank you is owed to everyone who entered the tournament, but especially to everyone that pitched in on Friday evening to set things up, and on Saturday to help keep things running, and to those who stuck around afterwards to help with all of the tear down. I could not have done this without your help. Special thanks to Caitee & Vanessa for running the scorers desk, probably the hardest job in keeping things moving. As everyone knows this is a Charity Event, and last year we raised $1750.00, I am so happy to announce that due to the increase in players and some very generous bidding on the silent auction items, and some private donations, we have exceeded this years goal of $3000.00, and will be donating $3612.21 to the American Cancer Society for research! I cannot thank everyone enough. Below are a few pictures of the facility and the medal winners.
