Forty youth and sixteen QCPC volunteers filled the Kiwanis Courts with fun on Saturday, June 18. Our 2nd annual pickleball clinic began with a short demonstration of the game at 11:00. Then the youth, ages 8 – 16, were divided into courts according to age and skill levels. Beginner players learned the basics of the game. Intermediate players received a lesson focusing on strategies and skills before a time of competitive play.
At the close of the clinic, a drawing was held for a new pickleball paddle and various gift certificates. Each child was able to win a prize in the drawing as well as keep a pickleball that was used in the drawing process.
QCPC volunteers Tom Brooks, Blaine Carroll, Julie Edmonds, Cathy Gaines, MaryJo Graham, Deb Guilfoyle, Janette Harrington, Jack Hermie, Mary Hutter, Rochelle Massengale, Judy Petersen, Ruth Senneff, Barb Shinbori, Sharon Walters, Henry Weber and Larry White shared their time and love of the game to make this youth clinic a success.
The Quad City Pickleball Club appreciates our area youth and parents for supporting pickleball!
