New rules on paddles and balls

Are the paddles and balls you play Pickleball with official? Are you calling out the start of the game correctly? Check out the new USAPA rules on equipment which is effective beginning May 1, 2016. USAPA has extended the date for new balls to November 1, 2016.

10.F. Calling the Score: The score should be called as three numbers. The proper sequence for calling the score is: server score, receiver score, then, for doubles only, (server) 1 or 2. To start a match, the score will be called as: zero – zero – two. Prior to the potential final game or match point, DO NOT add any phrase such as “potential game point” or “potential match point.”
2.E.3. Paddle Size: The combined length and width including any edge guard and butt cap shall not exceed 24 inches (60.96 cm). The paddle length cannot exceed 17 inches (43.18 cm). There is no restriction on paddle thickness. (revised January 1st, 2016, effective July 1st, 2016)
